5 Midsommar.  Wierd, wonderful and horrific. On Blu-Ray and Foxtel now.

6 Lords of Chaos.  One of the year’s surprises – the true story of a tragic Norwegian black metal band. On Foxtel now.

7 Beautiful Boy. Another great performance from Timothee Chalamet. On Blu-Ray and Foxtel now.

8 Us. Jordan Peele’s ambitious follow-up to Get Out. On Blu-Ray and Foxtel.

9 John Wick 3: Parabellum. The current benchmark in action cinema. blu-Ray and Foxtel.

10 The Irishman. Scorsese, De Niro, Pacino and Pesci. Netflix now.

11 The House that Jack Built. Compelling and highly controversial. Blu-Ray and Foxtel.

12 Marriage Story. Authentic and painfully good. Netflix.

13 Rocketman. Highly entertaining tribute. Blu-Ray and Foxtel.

14 Burning. South Korean slow-burn thriller. Hard to find.

15 The Mustang.  Two tortured creatures find solace and meaning in each other. On DVD.

16 Yesterday. Great idea and great fun. On Blu-Ray.

17 The Captain. German anti-war cinema at its best. Hard to find.

18 Dogman. terrific Italian drama. hard to find.

19 The Guilty. One-man Nordic thriller. On Foxtel.

20 A Prayer Before Dawn. Filmed in a real Cambodian prison with inmates as extras. On Foxtel.
