Otherwise, let me quickly tell you that the 2025 Mexican film Counter-attack (Contraataque) is an average one.

The set-up sees five, all-male, friends heading across the US / Mexican border for a bit of rest and recreation.

Their vehicle is ambushed by a group of gun-wielding maniacs who come off second-best because our five friends are actually members of Mexico’s elite military special forces.

After finding out most of his men have been killed, the leader of a Sicario Death Squad sends his army after the special forces soldiers who are now on foot and racing to get to a secure location.

That’s the sum of it, all presented in an economical 80-odd minutes.

Average story and performances with action we’ve seen plenty of times. The head villains are pretty average too.
