WE’RE off to the Toronto Film festival next month and here are the top 5 films I’m looking forward to, based on the titles announced to date:
ARRIVAL: Canadian director Denis Villeneuve’s latest sci-fi thriller. Hopes are high for this one because his previous films have included Sicario, Prisoners and the devastating Incendies
LOVING: A race drama from Jeff Nichols, the director of Midnight Special, Take Shelter and Mud. Australia’s Joel Edgerton stars.
BLEED FOR THIS: The team behind the fantastic Whiplash has a new film on the true life story of a boxer facing seemingly insurmountable physical odds in his pursuit of success. Miles Teller stars
A MONSTER CALLS: Based on a best-selling novel that tells the story of a lonely boy befriended by a monster. Liam Neeson provides the creature’s voice.
NOCTURNAL ANIMALS: Based on his recent output (Demolition, Southpaw, Nightcrawler) I’m all in when it comes to Jake Gyllenhaal, particular when it’s billed as a violent revenge story.
